Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get started with Therapy?
The first step is to schedule an initial consultation. This can be arranged via the contact form on this website or by reaching out directly by phone or email.
We will begin with a consultation session to discuss your current concerns, personal history, and what you are seeking from therapy. This meeting allows us to assess fit and determine whether ongoing analytic work would be appropriate.
If we decide to proceed, we will establish a consistent weekly meeting time.
How long are sessions?
Standard psychotherapy sessions are 50 minutes.
Extended sessions (75–90 minutes) may be scheduled when clinically indicated or when engaging in specialized depth work, integration sessions, or intensive exploration. These are arranged in advance.
Consistency and continuity are central to analytic work, and weekly sessions are generally recommended, particularly at the outset.
What are your fees?
My practice operates on a private-pay basis. My current fees are as follows for a 50-minute session:
Individual Psychotherapy - $220
Couples and Family therapy - $250
I have some sliding scale slots open. If you think we could be a good fit, please get in touch.
Payment is due at the time of service.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not directly participate in insurance panels. However, upon request, I can provide a monthly superbill that you may submit to your insurance provider for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement rates vary depending on your individual plan, and I recommend contacting your insurer directly to clarify your benefits.
Choosing to work outside of insurance networks allows for greater privacy, flexibility, and depth in the therapeutic process.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions are held in my private office in Hayes Valley, San Francisco, California and, when appropriate, via secure telehealth for clients located within the state.
The office environment is quiet, discreet, and designed to support focused, uninterrupted work.
