Adjunct Services & Special Interests

In addition to ongoing psychotherapy, my practice offers adjunct services that deepen and expand the therapeutic process. These offerings reflect my depth psychotherapy orientation and my commitment to working not only with symptoms, but with the symbolic, imaginal, and transformative dimensions of psychological life.

Depth-oriented psychotherapy can help treat anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelms rauma and unresolved early experiences,
and repeating relational patterns.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based psychotherapy approach designed to help individuals process distressing experiences that continue to affect their emotional well-being, relationships, self-esteem, and daily life.

Many people seek EMDR therapy when they feel stuck in painful memories, emotional reactions, anxiety, or patterns that seem difficult to change through insight alone. EMDR can help the brain and body process experiences that may have become emotionally overwhelming or unresolved.

EMDR therapy is commonly used to address:

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Childhood emotional wounds

  • Anxiety and panic

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Negative self-beliefs

  • Shame and self-criticism

  • Grief and loss

  • Medical trauma

  • Disturbing memories or intrusive thoughts

  • Performance anxiety and stress

EMDR therapy is not about forcing clients to relive traumatic experiences. Treatment moves at a pace that feels manageable and safe. Establishing emotional stability, coping skills, and trust is an important part of the process before deeper trauma work begins.

I approach EMDR therapy collaboratively and thoughtfully, integrating it within a broader therapeutic relationship that emphasizes emotional safety, curiosity, and respect for each individual’s experience.

Virtual Reality and Video Game Therapy

If a pervasive experience of loneliness and disconnection has become your overall experience of life and you spend most of your waking life engaging with electronic devices, games, and screens, Virtual Reality Therapy and Video Gaming Therapy can help you understand the underlying issues and level up to a more enjoyable life.

For some of us, traditional talk therapies can feel intimidating and overwhelming.  You may find it difficult to open up and share. With Virtual Reality Therapy and Video Gaming Therapy, the therapist can join the client in their world.  When meeting on their level the client may become less guarded and more comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings that can help create therapeutic change.

I offer Video Gaming and Virtual Reality (VR) therapy as effective interventions that promote well-being, especially during the critical developmental stages of adolescence and early adulthood, where mental health challenges often go untreated.

Despite all of the ways society seeks to divide us, we are wired for connection with one another. Video Gaming and Virtual Reality (VR) Therapy can help improve communication, the ability to bond with others, self-regulation skills, abstract thinking, and overall life satisfaction.

VR interventions are always integrated into a broader therapeutic framework and tailored to each client’s goals.

  • Anxiety and phobic conditions

  • Social or performance-related fears

  • Trauma-informed exposure

  • Nervous system regulation

  • Experiential rehearsal of adaptive responses

From a depth psychological perspective, immersive environments can also function symbolically — providing structured encounters with feared, avoided, or dissociated aspects of experience. These interventions are never used mechanically; they are carefully integrated into an individualized analytic process.

Psychedelic Preparation & Integration

I provide preparation and integration psychotherapy for individuals who are considering or who have participated in legally sanctioned psychedelic experiences.

I do not administer psychedelic substances. My role is to offer psychological containment, discernment, and integration.

Preparation work focuses on strengthening ego structure, clarifying intention, and assessing psychological readiness. Integration addresses the often archetypal, numinous, or destabilizing material that can emerge in altered states.

Within a depth-oriented framework, such experiences may constellate shadow material, transpersonal imagery, and encounters with powerful symbolic content. Without careful reflection, these experiences risk inflation, fragmentation, or dissociation. Our work emphasizes grounding insight into lived reality — translating revelation into responsibility.

All services are conducted in accordance with California law and professional ethical standards.

Dream Work & Analytic Depth Exploration

Dreams remain central to depth psychotherapy. They are spontaneous expressions of the unconscious — precise, compensatory, and often developmentally oriented.

In analytic dream work, we may explore:

  • Archetypal patterns and mythic imagery

  • Shadow dynamics

  • Relational complexes

  • Recurrent symbolic motifs

  • Transitional thresholds in the individuation process

Dreams are not reduced to formulas or universal meanings. Instead, they are engaged as living psychological events. Through amplification, reflection, and dialogue, dreams can illuminate emerging aspects of the personality and guide movement toward greater internal coherence.

This work requires patience, psychological mindedness, and a willingness to engage the unknown.
